I am Tatyana Malyk from South Hadley, MA. I hold a M.S. in Structural and Applied Linguistics from Kiev Shevchenko State University in Ukraine. For the last six years I have been teaching foreign languages at a residential boarding school in Western Massachusetts.
Gardening is my other passion,   With my collegue at ACTFL conference.
I have taught before French and English Language in Kiev State University.
Languages and teaching them has been always my passion and I enjoy the full time dedication to my job. It is very difficult but very rewarding to teach our students. I can see how grateful and happy they are learning something that theoretically considered unnecessary and unattainable to students with learning disabilities. EHS graduation
Kiev University, my "alma mater".   With my Latin student at 2009 graduation.
I teach four different languages: Latin, Spanish, French, and Russian. The program of Latin language existed before but other foreign languages have been thought here only the last five years. What I like about teaching my students is intellectual closeness with each of them, constant research, constant move, eye contact with each of them, change of the methods, etc. Each student for me is a puzzle and to solve this puzzle is my joy and my challenge.

Five years ago I discovered the beauty of Spanish language, first in University of Massachusetts in Amherst then in the summer immersion schools in Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Ecuador. This year I did immersion program in Spain. And last summer after spending two weeks with ACL members learning photography and web design I started my own web site. I do not use the preset templates for my pages because I want to apply what I learned; I want to do all stages of the design process myself.

I always loved photography, now I am always with my photocamera. I use it in class. When we learn “estar”, My students love to pose showing different faces for different moods. I use my camera at different events, at different places, for learning vocabulary, etc. The ideas come to me during the design of my site and I am trying to implement them. Now I am still working on the Spanish section of my Web Site presenting my experiences in Spain. I use my Latin section in class any time it is applicable to the topic of the lesson.
If you would like to express your opinion about my site please contact me.
